The Zambian Mission in Ankara starts issuance of visas

The Zambian Mission in Turkey has started issuing visas to Turkish citizens and nationals of other countries.

The Department of Immigration has authorized the Mission to issue visas in an effort to boost tourism exchanges, trade, investment and interaction between Zambia and other countries.

Zambia’s Ambassador to Turkey, Dr Joseph Chilengi said this development coupled with the introduction of a direct flight between Istanbul and Lusaka by Turkish Airlines will help to boost Zambia’s trade, investment and tourism inflows.

“This what we have been waiting for, it is a positive development for people to people diplomacy as it will help increase interaction between the Turkish and our people including citizens of other countries that we cover. Now that we are issuing visas, we will now be able to effectively implement our Foreign Policy anchored on economic diplomacy to promote trade and investment inflows into our country,” Dr Chilengi said.

He added that Zambian and Turkish citizens with diplomatic passports will soon not require visas when entering the two countries in the spirit of enhancing citizens’ and business interaction.
