ADVISORY TO ZAMBIAN CITIZENS IN TURKEY

ADVISORY TO ZAMBIAN CITIZENS IN TURKEY, THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN, GEORGIA, AZERBAIJAN AND NORTH MACEDONIA

The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia in Ankara wishes to encourage Zambians resident in Turkey, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and North Macedonia to register with the Mission for accountability purposes, especially during this coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

As you may be aware, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic on March 11, 2020. In this regard, the registration of Zambians in Turkey and countries of extra accreditation is important to enable the Government to account for its citizens and monitor their welfare during this difficult period.

In the same vein, the Mission also wishes to encourage students, short time travellers and any other Zambians who may have been caught up in the various travel restrictions to contact the Embassy to enable them access any assistance that they may require.

Further, Zambian citizens and residents are advised not to travel to countries with confirmed cases of the disease.

Meanwhile, kindly note that during this COVID-19 period, all individuals entering into Zambia will be placed under mandatory quarantine for 14 days and those who exhibit symptoms, upon arrival will have be quarantined in Government designated medical facilities for further investigation and treatment while those who will test positive will be moved to a Government isolation facility.

Finally, citizens are also encouraged to follow health guidelines from the Governments of the Republic of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Jordan and North Macedonia
